Of course, he was Ava’s.

Sienna didn’t hold back on this one… which was not unusual… but she was unusually attentive.

He was quite the sonneteer.

Ava was absolutely enamoured.

They met in a bookshop.

Midnight paragraphs followed. Long messages about moonlight and meaning. Even ordering pasta became a reflection on the human condition.

“A romantic and a foodie,” Sienna observed. “Promising.”

He made lingering eye contact, heavy with unspoken words.

With him, silence felt sacred.

With him, Ava felt mythic.

Sienna watched carefully.

“Wow,” she said slowly. “That’s… intense.”

He loved yearning.

Loved the almost-touch.

Loved the idea of love in italics.

“He’s in love with longing,” Sienna diagnosed.

One night, Ava repeated something he’d said, almost reverently.

“He told me tonight felt like the sort of evening meant to live in the middle of a novel.”

Sienna nodded thoughtfully.

“He’s not insincere,” she said carefully.

Ava sighed.

“He talks like that all the time.”

Sienna smiled.

“And train guy?”

Ava laughed.

“He just asked if I’d eaten.”

Sienna agreed.

But reality bored The Poet.

Consistency dulled the magic.

Logistics thinned the atmosphere.

Once scheduling appeared… compromise, responsibility, the quiet architecture of real life… the mysticism evaporated.

“You can’t live in a novel,” Ava said eventually.

Sienna tilted her head.

“He likes the prelude.”

Ava nodded.

“He’s just better at feeling love than living it.”
